Information about Esoz D 40 Capsule
Esoz D 40 Capsule is a combination medication used primarily to treat conditions associated with excessive stomach acid and motility disorders. It contains two active ingredients: Esomeprazole and Domperidone.
Components:
-
Esomeprazole:
- A proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
- Helps treat conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
-
Domperidone:
- A dopamine antagonist that increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach.
- Also helps reduce feelings of nausea and vomiting.
Uses:
- Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD): Relieves symptoms like heartburn, regurgitation, and difficulty swallowing.
- Erosive Esophagitis: Promotes healing of inflammation and damage to the esophagus caused by stomach acid.
- Peptic Ulcers: Aids in healing ulcers in the stomach and the upper part of the small intestine.
- Prevention of NSAID-Induced Ulcers: Protects the stomach lining in nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) patients.
- Nausea and Vomiting: Reduces these symptoms by enhancing gastric motility and preventing delayed gastric emptying.
Side Effects:
- Common: Headache, dizziness, dry mouth, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation.
- Serious: Allergic reactions, severe dizziness, irregular heartbeat, or signs of low magnesium levels (e.g., muscle cramps, seizures).
